TELL THE COMPTROLLER:
REJECT THIS RISKY CONTRACT AND PROTECT OUR CARE

For generations, New York City employees and retirees have relied on our current health care plan to support our families. Last year, the City tried to force retirees onto terrible Medicare Advantage plans, but retirees fought back.

Now the City is trying to gut the health plan for current employees AND retirees. If successful, we will lose access to the doctors and providers we know and trust and have to pay more out of pocket.

The final decision on this contract isn’t just bureaucratic, it’s immoral. The City Comptroller has the authority to reject contracts that put New Yorkers’  financial security at risk. We need accountability and the courage to stand up for what’s right: protecting the care city workers and retirees have earned.

New York City is moving forward with a plan to switch municipal workers and retirees to new insurers — a deal that now sits before the Comptroller for oversight. This contract puts savings before people and threatens our access to the dependable health care we currently rely on. The City’s decision to uproot our health care coverage was made without taking city workers and retirees needs into account. Our voices have not been heard, and the City has not been transparent with us.

THE ISSUE

If our health plan is changed, we will lose access to the doctors and providers we rely on, our care will become more expensive, and our provider networks may shrink significantly. Changing plans will endanger our continuity of care.

OUR CONCERNS

IT’S NOT TOO LATE TO STOP THIS CHANGE

WE DEMAND:

A FULLY TRANSPARENT PROCESS that provides city employees and retirees with clear information and open communication about these important decisions.

A GUARANTEE that we will not lose access to our current doctors and providers or have to pay more for critical care like hospital visits.

PROTECTION OF
OUR EARNED BENEFITS
after years of dedicated
public service.

We are proud to serve the greatest city in the world, but balancing the City budget on the backs of municipal employees and retirees is unacceptable.

It’s time for city leaders – especially those with the power to approve or reject contracts – to stand with New York City’s municipal workforce. We urge the Comptroller to reject this dangerous deal and demand a transparent, fair process that puts people first.

Reject this Contract and Protect our Health Care!
